Blue Cross of India:
"The Blue Cross of India introduced the world's first program for the catch, neuter, vaccinate and return of street dogs which has been responsible for making Chennai the first rabies-free city in India and we would like to extend this program to the whole country. The elimination of human rabies is 100% preventable and that is what we aim to achieve by 2020."
"PETA India, based in Mumbai, was launched in January 2000. PETA India operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on or use for entertainment, while educating policymakers and the public about animal abuse and promoting an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect."
"Greenpeace India has been working on various issues related to the environment since 2001. Our work in India is focused on four broad campaigns namely, stop climate change, sustainable agriculture, preserving the oceans and preventing another nuclear catastrophe. Over the years Greenpeace India has built a strong base of supporters spread across the country."
The 21-day vegan kickstart program is by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. The program, in their words:
"Join the tens of thousands of people in India and around the world who will Kickstart their health beginning June 4! Kickstart India provides a research-based roadmap to jumpstart weight loss, boost your health, and reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems. Traditional Indian diets are being swamped by meat and processed foods. Dairy product consumption is rising. These unhealthy foods are driving obesity and diabetes rates through the roof. But the Kickstart’s healthy, dairy-free versions of traditional favorites make it easy to eliminate milk, ghee, and yogurt from an Indian diet. The best way to lose weight and reverse disease is to jump into a completely dairy-free, plant-based diet for three weeks."
"We are a non-profit organization with the goals of spreading holistic health awareness, and an ecologically sustainable, compassionate lifestyle. We believe that all life on this planet is interconnected. By reconnecting, we can heal ourselves and our earth."
"Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) is a collective of animal protection organisations in India. It represents and advocates for NGOs and activists in the Indian animal protection sector; and also independently conducts research about and advocates for the rights of animals."
